Step-by-Step Construction Process

At By Carrier we have laid out a step-by-step process that will take each customer from the first construction phase to the final inspection where they are given the keys to their new home. For each phase of construction there is at least one quality checkpoint that must be passed in order to move on to the next phase. Read the chart below to get more information on each phase.

Your Initial Meeting

After viewing the area of homes you like best, it's time to have a "meet and greet" with one of our team members! We'll set this up for you to discuss in greater detail any questions you may have about building your dream home and about the subdivision as a whole! We also describe the home building process to help you get started.

You may place a reservation at this point with a deposit to remove your favorite home and home site from the marketplace.

Next Steps

We work with very qualified mortgage brokers to help you determine your budget, mortgage payments and answer questions about your closing costs.

We also can provide you with a complimentary market analysis of your current home to determine your market value on your home. We have a list of preferred realtors should you request this service! We are here to make this transition as smooth as possible for you!

Building Your Home

Once the "paperwork" is executed and we have answered any further questions about the building process, it's time to begin building your dream home.

We'll walk you through the design process and you'll meet the Design Team along the way! They will help you select all the wonderful finishes necessary to make your home the most spectacular it can be!

Before You Sign

Any additional design changes are then discussed and one of our designers will create a one-time complimentary rough sketch of the changes. Once you have OK'd this and depending upon the amount of changes we will go over the next steps in terms of cost to draw your plan (if applicable), and price out your home for you. You will review the specifications based on the subdivision location and ask for any pricing on upgrades we may suggest to you. We may also be able to "walkthrough" a finished already occupied home, or view a decorated model or at the very least be able to provide some color photographs for your review.

Pre-Closing and 5 Year Warranty

A pre-closing walkthrough is scheduled for purposes of any "punch list" items within one week of closing. All warranty information is discussed that is required by the state of Connecticut and By Carrier 5 year limited special warranty. We will go over post closing details at this time. You are on your way to live out your dreams!
